Tru-Turf RB70 Greens Roller

Headquartered in Arundel, Queensland, Australia, Tru-Turf manufactures ride-on greens rollers for golf courses, sports fields and fairways, and lawn bowl greens. Its golf greens roller lineup includes gas-powered RB48, RB50-11, and RB70 models with rolling widths ranging from 48 to 70 inches (122 to 178 centimeters). Also included are the BH40, which has a 40-in. (102-cm) swath and features an electronic control center, and the electric-powered RE50, which has a 50-in. (127-cm) swath and includes a 48-volt battery that provides enough power to roll upwards of 25 greens on a single charge. The sport and fairway greens roller family features hydraulic and PTO-powered models, including the 66-in. (168-cm) TR66, which Tru-Turf says operators can attach to a triplex greens mower and take care of cutting, rolling, and slicing jobs with one machine. The company’s electric BP60-ELTac lawn bowls greens roller has a 60-in. (152-cm) swath.

Founding & Distinction

Ray Dufty and his partner Dorothy Rix launched Tru-Turf in 1989 following the creation of their first product with assistance from Ronald Kaye and his workshop in Australia. The machine was an easy-to-operate greens roller with a minimal footprint that could quickly churn out a smooth putting surface. Dufty and Kaye managed to secure orders from groundskeepers at some of the world’s premier golf courses, catching the attention of the PGA in the process. Their machine was singled out as “the roller of choice,” and it is widely used at such courses as Augusta, Pebble Beach, and St. Andrews. Scott Bullard of Gold Coast, Australia, acquired the company in 2021 following Dufty and Rix’s retirement. Tru-Turf sells it greens rollers to customers in more than 50 countries, and operates a warehouse in North Carolina.
