Jacobsen AR331 Trim, Surrounds & Slope Mower
Company History
Jacobsen got its start in 1921 when Oscar Jacobsen built his first lawnmower, the Four Acre Mower, named for its ability to cut four acres a day. It sold for $275 and was designed for use on millionaire estates; the company produced 75 of them over the course of the year. In 2020, Textron relocated Jacobsen’s manufacturing operations from America to Ipswich, England, where it also produces Ransomes mowers. Jacobsen maintains sales, parts, and customer care teams in North America and a network of North American distributors to serve U.S. and Canadian customers.
Since 1921, Jacobsen has improved upon the Four Acre Mower’s original design and developed a myriad of all-new products to care for golf courses and sports fields, for use by contractors, turf care pros, consumers, and others. The company has also developed a line of commercial mowers used in parks, airports, military bases, and elsewhere that includes the Eclipse 360 Elite electric reel, HR800 high-performance rotary, HM600 wide-area mulching flail, and other models.
