The X15 Performance Series engine is rated at 565 HP at 1,900 RPM, governed at 1,900 RPM, with 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 RPM. It is a 2024-series emissions engine with a model year 2026 engine designation. It drives an Allison 4500 RDS-P Gen 6 Rugged Duty Series automatic in a 6-speed configuration. The transmission has a TC-571 torque converter, Primary Shift Schedule 1, neutral at stop and a dash-mounted push-button shifter. A Jacobs compression brake is controlled from the right-hand column. It also has a 37.4 CFM air compressor, a 2-speed fan clutch for frequent start/stops, a high-efficiency cooling system and a 110–120V immersion block heater. Fuel handling includes a PACCAR extended-service fuel/water separator and fuel heat for the fuel filter. Air intake is through 15" premium stainless cowl-mounted air cleaners with slotted stainless caps. The exhaust uses dual SOC with a single-module DPF/SCR under the right side of the cab, a DPF regeneration switch and chrome 7" standpipes with curved tips. A 12-pin remote PTO/throttle provision sits in the engine bay. The drivelines are a 1810 HD main driveline with one midship bearing and a 1710 interaxle driveline. The rear axle ratio is 4.30, set for a typical operating speed of 70 MPH. Maximum cruise and accelerator vehicle speed are set at 68 MPH, PTO maximum engine speed is 1,400 RPM, and idle shutdown is enabled with a 5-minute timer.
Chassis & Axles
The frame uses 10-3/4" steel rails at 3/8" thickness with a full steel inner liner. The rails are zinc-coated and anti-corrosion treated, with aluminum crossmembers, heavy-duty iron front spring brackets and a square end of frame with a steel crossmember. The wheelbase is 246". Up front is a PACCAR FX-20 wide-track steer axle rated at 20,000 lbs with a 4" drop and TRW THP60 dual-gear power steering. At the rear, a Dana Spicer D46-172 tandem rated at 46,000 lbs has heavy-wall housings, a drive axle lube pump and synthetic lubricant.
