    Description
    Here is a very good hard to find, 31 HP 1956 John Deere 420-W Gasoline Navy Tractor. This tractor was made specially for the Navy Department. We got in this tractor half restored in primer with all new parts to go with it. The owner lost his helper who was helping him and who was going to paint it.

This 420W model has a new 6-Volt Battery that always starts easy on the first or second spin. The steering and transmission are good and it shifts just like it should. It still has some of the original yellow factory Navy edition paint underneath. It comes with its original I.S. Navy & John Deere serial tags. Has all brand-new tires, front and back, and a new steering wheel is on order and will be installed. Sheet metal very good as shown and has its original block cast #.

Note: an unrestored 1956 Navy 420-W sold last month at Aumann Collector Auction with premium for over $12,000. The tractor was on the rough side but it did have its original tag on it. The engine was not original and it was stuck. The last two pictures posted show a couple photos one from a magazine of a 420 Navy on display and the other of 420 Navy that sold at Mecum for $17,000 plus premium of 10% on top of that. There were only 124 of these U.S. Navy 420-W's made and only about 16 known to be in existence...most were given burials at sea when their commission was up. This is the 25th one of the 124 made.

U.S. Delivery available from TN for just $.95-$1.20 mile one-way if over 500 miles. Local / regional delivery $1.5-$3.5 per mile one-way depending on location.
