New Woods BrushFighter Rotary Mowers For Compact Tractors
Woods Equipment Company recently launched its new BrushFighter trio of rear-mount rotary mowers for compact and subcompact tractors. The BrushFighter is a rigid, single-spindle rotary cutter for intermittent mowing of light brush, weedy overgrowth, and tall grass on rough terrain. An oval stump jumper protects its blade.
The manufacturer says the BrushFighter, which is part of Woods’ Standard product tier, is an entry-level model that provides an upgrade from a zero-turn or riding mower. It is the little brother to Woods’ BrushBull line of cutters.
BrushFighter Specs
Woods offers the BrushFighter in three models with 48-, 57-, and 69-inch (122-, 145-, and 175-centimeter) cutting widths. The smaller BF4.20 model requires a tractor with 15 to 40 horsepower (11 to 30 kilowatts) at a 540-rpm PTO, while the larger BF5.20 and BF6.20 mowers require a PTO with 20 to 50 HP (15 to 37 kW). The cutting height on all three is adjustable from 2 to 9 in. (51 to 229 millimeters).
Woods engineered the BrushFighter with a high-strength steel design and a durable gearbox. The smooth deck is sloped to allow water and debris to slough off easily.
The BrushFighter is compatible with a Category 1 3-point hitch. However, it comes from the factory ready to use a quick hitch with no additional hardware required.
