John Deere has added the Z380R Electric ZTrak to its Z300 Series ZTrak electric mower lineup. Deere designed the quiet-operating, zero-emissions mower for residential users.

The newer zero-turn mower has a larger Accel Deep mower deck than Deere’s earlier model, the 7370R Electric. The 73880R Electric has a flat-top 54-inch (137-centimeter) deck compared to earlier 42- and 48-in (107- and 122-cm) decks.

The Z380R uses two sealed 7.12-kilowatt-hour maximum lithium-ion batteries. Deere says the machine can mow up to 3.5 acres on a single charge.

    Built On Proven Performance

“With the introduction of the Z380R Electric, we’re rounding out our portfolio of residential zero-turn mowers, providing our customers with both gas and electric options to suit their unique needs,” says Eric Halfman, John Deere marketing manager.

“The new model builds on the proven performance of the Z370R, updated with a larger deck for enhanced efficiency, making it an ideal choice for homeowners seeking a powerful, low-maintenance solution to keep their lawns looking pristine.”

    Smart Charging Features

The Z380R Electric has an onboard smart charger that monitors the batteries. It also has a “go home” mode that powers down the mower blades before the batteries drain. This ensures the mower will have enough juice to return to a charging outlet.

Owners can recharge the batteries using a standard 120-volt outlet. A complete recharge takes 6 to 12 hours, Deere says.

    Designed For Durability

Deere used large front and side frame rails and optimized blades for enhanced durability and longer wear life. The mower deck uses the same stamped-steel construction used in Deere’s gas-powered zero-turn mowers.

The mower’s design eliminates sharp edges and corners. The result is less material build-up and power consumption. Deere says it also contributes to industry-leading cut quality.

    Take Control Of Mulch

The Z380R has a 20-in (51-cm) custom-tailored, adjustable seat with thick foam, spring suspension, and armrests. Adjustable mower wheels help operators produce even cuts and reduce scalping. The mower has a maximum forward speed of 7 mph (11.3 km/h).

    Mower Options

    Options include:

    • Protective rear bumper
    • Boarding step to make it easier to get on and off the mower
    • Grass Groomer attachment to add striping
    • MulchControl attachment to reduce grass clippings
