Toro introduced a battery-powered version of its HoverPro walk-behind mower, the eHoverPro, at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show held in early February in Orlando, Florida. The hovering, wheel-less mower has an 18-inch (460-millimeter) cutting width and a run time of up to 25 minutes per interchangeable battery. Lightweight and emissions-free, the eHoverPro is engineered for a high-quality finish appearance on contours and slopes of up to 45 degrees.

“The mower has the same exceptional performance capabilities as the outgoing HoverPro, only using battery power instead of traditional gas power,” says Toro Senior Product Marketing Manager Chris Cooper. “Lowering emissions is top-of-mind for many superintendents and the eHoverPro can help them reach environmental and performance goals all with one machine.”

    Emissions-Free

The Toro eHoverPro is equally at home around bunkers and tee boxes as well as on hillsides. Its powerful 60-volt, 2-kilowatt, brushless DC motor drives a high-capacity impeller for hover performance, along with a steel blade for a quality cut. Being electric, the single-speed motor starts every time with the press of a button.

The eHoverPro delivers cutting heights of 0.70 to 1.2 in. (18 to 30 mm). It has a lightweight ABS deck and a handlebar designed to foster maneuverability. Toro says the quiet machine transmits little vibration to the operator’s hands and arms.

    Toro Batteries

Toro’s 60V Flex-Force Power System has commonality among its battery packs, so the eHoverPro can use batteries from other Toro tools and vice versa. The mower’s 7.5-Ah, 405-Wh battery can recharge in 90 minutes using its 5-amp rapid charger.
