Toro Puts The Spotlight On Upcoming Electric Ultra Buggy Material Handler

Landscape contractors, equipment rental providers, and other attendees of the recent Equip Expo 2022 trade show in Louisville got to see Toro’s upcoming electric Ultra Buggy up close and personal. Set for release this winter, the compact material-handling machine is designed for indoor applications and uses Toro’s proprietary HyperCell battery system. The company says customers can expect to get eight hours of continuous operation from the buggy per full charge.

Feel The Electricity

Toro introduced the Ultra Buggy in January at the World of Concrete trade show. Toro Marketing Manager Kyle Cartwright says the machine’s maneuverability and emissions-free operation gives it an edge in equipping crews for urban projects. The Ultra Buggy’s compact frame lets operate in tight and semi-enclosed spaces and navigate 3-foot (0.9-meter) doors with a crash bar.

The Ultra Buggy can haul up to 14 cubic feet (0.4 cubic meters) of material or 2,500 pounds (1,134 kilograms) in its polyethylene tub. (Toro also offers the buggy with an optional steel tub.) Its fold-up operator platform lets crews choose stand-on or walk-behind operation of the Ultra Buggy’s directional and dump switches. Users can recharge the Ultra Buggy’s battery by plugging into a standard 120-volt wall outlet.

Toro Material Buggies

Toro’s current material buggy lineup includes the tracked MB TX 2500 Swivel Mud and MB TX 2500 Tracked Mud models and the MB-1600 Mud Buggy. The Swivel Mud’s 180-degree swivel lets operators dump material anywhere along the swivel radius. Both the Swivel Mud and Tracked Mud include an auto-return dump feature that automatically returns the tub to its resting position. The Tracked Mud includes Kevlar-reinforced tracks and a ride-on platform. The MB-1600 provides handlebar-mounted speed control that operators can place on the right or left side and a dual-action dump foot pedal that dumps and returns the tub to resting position.
