John Deere is currently showcasing three new triplex mowers at the 2020 Golf Industry Show in Orlando: the 2400 PrecisionCut, the 2550 PrecisionCut, and the 2550E-Cut Hybrid. The new additions increase the company’s line of triplex mowers to seven models. The three newest ones feature an offset cutting unit that will eliminate the troublesome triplex ring frequently left behind by other models. All three new models will be available for purchase in the spring of 2020.
New Triplex Details
The 2400 model has a gas-powered 19-horsepower (14.2-kilowatt) V-Twin EFI (electronic fuel injection) engine while the 2550 has a 19.6-HP (14.6-kW) three-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine. The 2550 E-Cut Hybrid model uses an electric reel drive system which reduces fuel consumption and sound levels.
All the mowers in the triplex lineup come with the Tech Control system which enables managers and technicians to control virtually every aspect of the operator’s performance, including clip frequency, turn speed, clean up pass speed, and even how quickly the cutting units raise and lower, to ensure consistent results regardless of the operator. With three offset cutting models and four open-platform models, superintendents have a wide range to choose from to get the right machines for their course.
